I need help! What is the difference b/w all of the vtech vsmile systems?
I want to get my daughter the vtech vsmile portable game system for her birthday. I have heard mixed reviews on these…are they worth the money? Do they stop working quickly?
Can any vsmile game work in the portables as well as the tv system? or are there specific “portable” games?? AYE all this technology and too many options! lol
She will be 6, is this a suitable system or too “baby-ish”?

We’ve had a V Pocket for a bit over a year now and it’s still running strong – we bought a rechargable battery pack and saved a fortune on batteries but we’ve had a challenge in finding new “smartridges” titles since they only seem to release new titles in the fall.
All V Tech Smartridges work on all V Smile (home console) and V Pocket (portable console that can also be used with your TV as a home console) units including the newest versions the V Smile Motion (almost like an educational kid friendly Wii) and the Cyber V Pocket. However if you are using the newer models you should know that only some Smartridges are V Link compatible (allows downloadable content to be played on your Cyber V Pocket)
You’re daughter is in a good age group for the system as they make Smartridges to accomedate kids from age 3 to 8
In our house the V Pocket is used on the younger child who is too young to handle a gameboy (4 years) although she does love to try and play with her sister’s gameboy she gets frustrated quickly and always goes back to her V Pocket.
We also have a Wii for them and she does enjoy playing that too but she can’t play with it on her own so when she needs something to play independantly or something for say like a long trip in the car – the V Pocket is always her first choice.
Good luck and enjoy and if all else fails try a Leapster – her sister loved Leapster before she graduated to gameboy at age 7 and it’s pretty much the same function and premise as the V Tech products just with more variety and a different curiculum selection.
